Julie Oslan, LSW

Julie is a Licensed Social Worker with over 25 years of experience. She is a native Chicagoan who received her master’s in social work at Loyola University and her undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Miami. Julie works with adolescents, adults and families, and utilizes a therapeutic style that combines a direct approach with mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), warmth and humor. Julie helps clients to move through their anxiety by focusing on ego strength and cognitive refocusing. She embraces the concept that each client grows at their own pace and no two journeys look the same. Her focus areas are parent coaching, anxiety and depression.
Julie recognizes that parenting is complex; it requires acknowledging and validating your child’s feelings and allowing them to feel and explore the full spectrum of emotions, including love, shame and anger. She enjoys working with parents to develop skills that will help their children build self-confidence and resilience to life’s challenges. Julie brings her own experience raising a daughter with ADHD as a powerful source of insight and compassion to client sessions.
Julie combines her approach, life experience and professional training to provide clients with effective, individualized support, including the necessary tools to manage their challenges and live their best life. On the weekends, you will find Julie on the pickle ball or tennis courts.
