Agatha is a certified CBT for Anxiety & OCD specialist and has completed the clinical training program through the Center for Anxiety Training. She received her Masters in Social Work from Jane Addams College of Social Work (UIC). Agatha completed her field internship at an inpatient behavioral health hospital providing crisis stabilization for patients with various mental health disorders and doing individual and group therapy with a focus on trauma using CBT. Agatha also has experience working in nonprofit agencies that provides services for under resourced kids and adolescents. She was involved in social skills groups geared to those kids and adolescents who have ADHD and/or ASD. Agatha is passionate about working with kids, adolescents, and young adults who struggle with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and racial discrimination.
Agatha is a firm believer that everyone can build up resilience. She uses a strengths-based perspective with individuals. Agatha believes the client is the expert in their own life and wishes to establish a positive, warm, and genuine therapeutic relationship. She also acknowledges how faith and spirituality can be a positive support for an individual’s life.
