This approach uses CBT in collaboration with mindfulness techniques to foster awareness of thoughts, feelings and behaviors. The goal of mindfulness enhanced CBT is to become aware of thoughts before reacting to them. Light on Anxiety also offers a Teen Yoga for Anxiety group. Anxiety can pull us from the present moment and send us into a state of worry and fear. Studies show that the combination of asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breath work) and mindful meditation can help to alleviate anxiety by training our brain to stay in the present moment. In this group we will incorporate these three practices and more to increase self-awareness and quiet the anxious mind.
