Lauren Tonner, LCSW

Lauren received a Master of Social Work from The University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Lauren’s background includes work with children, adolescents, adults, and families targeting a wide range of mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, adjustment-challenges, and trauma. She incorporates elements of Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into her work to help her clients develop emotional regulation skills and manage their stressors more effectively.
Lauren has a strong desire to “meet her clients where they’re at” and creates a safe, non-judgmental environment for them to communicate their needs and experiences openly. She enjoys working from a strength-based approach to empower clients to build upon their current skills, as well as develop new ones, to help them meet their goals. She believes in building strong therapeutic alliances with her clients and sees treatment as a collaborative process and an opportunity to work as a team.
Outside of work, Lauren loves going to concerts, trying new restaurants, and going for walks by the lakefront!
