Jess Garlow, LPC

Jess is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a specialization in Human Development from DePaul University with a minor in Sociology. Jess has clinical experience providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents and adults, utilizing empirically supported treatments such as cognitive, behavioral and play-based therapies.
Jess is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families to create meaningful, long-lasting change on the individual and family system level. She values creating a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to better understand their thoughts and behaviors and to apply the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). By working collaboratively, Jess helps clients identify and engage in useful coping mechanisms to make positive changes in their lives, decrease anxiety and enhance wellbeing. Jess emphasizes the importance of involving parents in understanding their child’s needs to be able to best support them outside of sessions.
Jess offers therapeutic services to children, adolescents, families, and adults.
