Gia Macchione, LSW, is a Certified Light On Anxiety Treatment Specialist who holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago. Gia is passionate about helping individuals become their best selves and find meaning throughout their healing journeys. With a focus on mood and emotional regulation, Gia has training working with Depression, Generalized Anxiety, Phobias and Social Anxiety.
Her diverse clinical background includes assessment for individuals across the lifespan. Gia is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Gia is committed to getting to know each client as a whole person. Using a collaborative, strengths based approach, she develops individualized treatment plans that align with each client’s unique needs and goals. Gia hopes to walk along side her clients to create long lasting, positive impact while ensuring a strong therapeutic rapport.
Gia prioritizes creating a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to express themselves and explore life’s challenges. Her goal is to equip clients with practical tools and insights that foster self-awareness, symptom management, and lasting personal growth.
Outside of her clinical work, Gia enjoys finding a cozy spot to read, volunteering with the cats at the animal shelter, exploring new places around the city, and taking peaceful walks in nature.
