Gabriela Bevacqua-Collins holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Art History from Indiana University. Following the completion of her undergraduate education, Gabriela attended Pennsylvania State University where she received a Master of Arts in Applied Clinical Psychology.
Gabriela has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults within a cognitive behavioral and art therapeutic framework. Her clinical work is informed by her background in research investigating the impact community and individual level traumas have on mental health and human development. She believes that mental health care that is informed by research creates the most effective therapeutic environment. Gabriela utilizes evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and art-based wellness to provide individuals a tangible, structured approach to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, trauma, phobias, OCD, and depression.
Because Gabriela considers client empowerment a vital aspect of treatment success, she emphasizes growing clients’ understanding of their diagnosis and how cultural, environmental, and behavioral contexts affect symptoms. She believes meeting treatment goals can be achieved by building a strong alliance with her clients. Supporting a teamwork approach, Gabriela works with clients to generate tools to navigate life’s complexities and relieve distressing symptoms.
Outside of work, Gabriela enjoys traveling, visiting art museums, and reading as much as life allows.
