Meet Emma Harkavy, LPC

Emma Harkavy
Ravenswood Virtual

Emma Harkavy is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School.  She is a Southerner at heart though, as she grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and earned her  Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Emma has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across  various levels of care, including residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and intensive  outpatient settings. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and incorporates  motivational interviewing and person-centered approaches to best support each client’s  unique needs and goals.

Emma is committed to providing care that meets clients where they are in their therapeutic journey. She believes that therapy is not one size-fits-all and works collaboratively with each client to explore what approaches work best for them. Emma prioritizes building strong rapport rooted in trust, authenticity, and  mutual respect. She brings a warm, empathetic presence to her work and strives to create  a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported, especially during difficult  moments. Emma gently challenges clients to explore their strengths and confront  obstacles in order to support meaningful, lasting change.

In her free time, Emma enjoys going to different workout classes, taking long walks by the  lake, exploring Chicago’s food scene, and occasionally playing her ukulele.

Emma is connecting with my daughter and helping her. My daughter has shared the coping techniques with me and I’ve witnessed her in action doing them
