Britt Durian earned her Bachelor of Arts in Interdepartmental Studies with a Human Services track from the University of Iowa in 2020, followed by a certificate in Resilience and Trauma-Informed Perspectives in 2021. She earned her Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2026. As a first-generation college and graduate student, Britt brings warmth, humility, and deep appreciation for the therapeutic process to her work with clients. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate healing, growth, and meaningful change.
Britt is a trauma-informed, client-centered, strengths-based, relational, and CBT-informed clinician. She believes clients are the experts of their own lives and already hold meaningful strengths within them. Britt views the therapeutic alliance as the foundation for meaningful work, recognizing that safety and trust are essential before clients can take actionable steps toward change. She values creating a space where clients feel genuinely safe, seen, and supported while exploring their strengths, building insight, identifying unhelpful thought patterns, and developing the self-trust needed to create meaningful change.
Britt has experience supporting adults, including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as adults navigating anxiety, grief and loss, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. She also has experience supporting individuals of all ages navigating pet loss and anticipatory grief through her work in veterinary settings. In addition, Britt brings years of caregiving experience as a nanny, which deepened her understanding of child development, family systems, and the importance of trust, patience, and connection.
