Meet Ashley McGann, LPC

Ashley McGann
Arlington Heights Virtual

Ashley McGann is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in the treatment of anxiety and related concerns. She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University and has experience working in residential recovery as well as community mental health settings, including work with co-occurring substance use concerns. Ashley works with children, adolescents, and adults, tailoring her approach to meet the unique needs of  clients across the lifespan.

Ashley believes in meeting clients where they are. She values authenticity in the therapeutic relationship and prioritizes creating a therapeutic space that feels genuine, supportive, and nonjudgmental. Her work integrates evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Ashley collaborates closely with clients navigating anxiety, life transitions, and the emotional complexities of parenting to better understand emotional patterns, build  effective coping strategies, and develop greater trust in themselves as they move toward meaningful, sustainable change.

Outside of her work as a therapist, Ashley enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends. She values quiet moments with a good book, time outdoors, and activities that support balance, connection, and personal well-being.

Compared to past therapy experiences, I was pleasantly surprised with how action oriented the approach is!
