Sydney Brown is a graduate-level counseling intern currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at DePaul University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arizona, with minors in both Sociology and Communications.
Sydney is passionate about working with children, teens, and adults who are navigating depression, anxiety, and the effects of trauma. She brings a trauma-informed lens to her work, along with a deep respect for the courage it takes to show up and ask for help, especially when life feels overwhelming or uncertain.
Sydney’s approach is collaborative and grounded in empathy, with the belief that clients are the experts of their own experiences. Her goal is to meet each person where they are, honor their unique story, and create a space where they feel seen, supported, and safe to explore who they are.
In her clinical training, Sydney draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is developing her work with Internal Family Systems (IFS), while continuing to explore integrative, evidence-based approaches. She values authenticity in the therapy room and believes that even in life’s most difficult moments, creating a space that feels real, relatable, and human can be deeply healing. Sydney holds a strong belief in the power of small steps – progress doesn’t have to be dramatic to be meaningful, and every step forward is a step toward healing.
Outside of her clinical work, Sydney can usually be found reading, hanging out with her cat, and binge-watching reality TV.
