Edgar Favela, MSW, is a Social Worker who earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from Northern Illinois University and his Master of Social Work from Aurora University.
Edgar brings experience supporting youth, adolescents, and adults through his work in schools as well as clinical and community-based settings. Before joining Light On Anxiety, he served as a Transition Coordinator for a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of adults with mental health disabilities. He has also worked as a Family Support Worker for a mental health agency, providing in-home therapy to children and adolescents experiencing anxiety and depression.
Edgar integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). His approach is focused on building a strong therapeutic relationship, ensuring that individuals feel seen, and working as a team to reach their goals.
Outside of work, Edgar is an avid sports fan, enjoys spending time with his family, and likes to relax with video games or a good movie.
