Externalizing Worries In Children Using Balloons!

You are not your worries.

In this video, Zughey Flores, MA, a therapist at Light On Anxiety, shares one of her go-to tools for helping children externalize their anxiety - and begin to let it go.

Here's how it works:

Write the worry down on a balloon.
Talk about it together - and remind the child: this worry is not you.
Then let the balloon go and watch it deflate - releasing the worry along with it.

This simple but powerful exercise helps kids visualize their anxiety as something outside of themselves - something they can name, face, and eventually release.

Tools like this are part of how we help children build emotional awareness and resilience, one gentle step at a time.
