Meet Sophia N. Troy, BS

Sophia N. Troy
Lakeview Ravenswood Virtual

Sophia N. Troy works with children, adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and difficult life transitions. She brings a warm, approachable style to therapy and strives to help clients feel comfortable, understood, and hopeful about their ability to make meaningful change. Sophia is a Graduate Clinical Counseling Intern pursuing her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at DePaul University, where she is expected to graduate in June 2027. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Rehabilitation and Human Services from The Pennsylvania State University.

Sophia recognizes that reaching out for support—for yourself or your child—can feel overwhelming. She works collaboratively with clients to understand what is getting in the way, identify meaningful goals, and develop practical strategies they can use in everyday life. When working with adolescents, she values partnering with parents and caregivers when appropriate while also creating a safe space where young people can build trust, confidence, and independence.

Sophia incorporates evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based strategies, and IFS-informed parts work to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behavior patterns; strengthen coping skills; and take manageable steps toward the life they want. She believes that even unhelpful behaviors often begin as attempts to cope or protect ourselves—and that therapy can help clients develop healthier and more effective ways to respond.

Outside of the therapy room, Sophia enjoys exploring Chicago, discovering new restaurants and coffee shops, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and walking along the lakefront.

Very helpful in empowering me to manage OCD.
