Meet Sarah Godinez, MS

APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE AT:

Oak Brook In-Person Telehealth

Sarah Godinez earned her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the Illinois Institute technology. She has spent the past 10 years working in schools, supporting children and their families.

Sarah believes that therapy should be a place where people feel genuinely heard, accepted, and supported. She approaches her work with warmth, empathy, and without judgment, helping clients recognize their strengths while developing the tools they need to create meaningful change in their lives.

Sarah’s approach is rooted in evidence-based Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), but she strongly believes therapy is not one-size fits all. Depending on each person’s needs, she may incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Most importantly, she strives to meet clients where they are and work alongside them at a pace that feels supportive and productive.

Sarah enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing concerns such as OCD, all types of anxiety, depression, ADHD, neurodivergence, sleep difficulties, and prolonged grief. She believes that no matter our age or stage of life, we can all have times when a little extra support can make a meaningful difference.

Taking the first step toward therapy can be difficult. Sarah believes anyone who makes that step should feel proud of themselves. Her hope is to help clients feel empowered to move forward, develop confidence in their own abilities, and experience greater freedom and fulfillment in their lives.

When she is not working, Sarah enjoys reading, taking walks with friends, raising her two teenagers and spending time with her two puppies and adult dog.

Strong attention to my needs and providing a safe space to help through my struggles.
