Nick Bollinger is an Associate Therapist at Light On Anxiety. He graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. Nick has worked with various populations including adults, adolescents, and children. Before joining Light on Anxiety, Nick worked as an MSW intern and then as a contract therapist for Healing Steps Counseling in Park Forest, Illinois. This was a private practice setting that provided community mental health services and private individual therapy for adults, adolescents, and children across the greater Chicago region. Nick has experience assisting individuals with neurodivergence, intellectual disabilities, PTSD, depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and ADHD.
Nick’s method of practice involves interconnected modalities such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Somatic Experiencing, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). His approach to therapy is entering each session with a welcoming and empathetic energy to help foster an environment for his clients to feel comfortable and heard. Nick believes that all individuals have an inner ability to find the peace and happiness they deserve. It is his passion to help others experience joy and purpose in their lives. In his free time, Nick is a musician, dog owner/enthusiast, American football fan, and enjoys traveling with his partner, Meera.
