McKenna Pettigrew
Oak Brook Virtual

McKenna Pettigrew is a Licensed Social Worker. She received her Master’s of Social Work with a focus on clinical mental health from UIC and her Bachelor of Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University.

McKenna has experience of working in various levels of care such as private practice with a concentration on Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Anxiety disorders, and Phobias while utilizing ERP, CBT, and ACT treatment modalities.

McKenna enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults that experience various Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and are looking for warm, guided support with improving their quality of life. She can understand taking the first step to be terrifying and simultaneously one of the bravest acts a person can do. For children and teens, she values family involvement in treatment. She provides age appropriate psychoeducation so that everyone is able to comprehend their treatment process, establish effective goals, and build upon their strengths they have.

McKenna’s therapeutic style is collaborative, empathetic, goal oriented, and tailored to clients’ real life outside of the therapeutic walls. She believes that cultivating a supportive and trustworthy therapeutic relationship is at the heart of successful and effective treatment. McKenna prioritizes a strengths based approach when collaborating with her clients as they are the expert in their own lives and have resilience to achieve their goals.

Outside of office hours, McKenna is an avid reader that enjoys thriller, science fiction, and horror novels while hanging out with her cats. Additionally, she loves to explore new restaurants and areas of Chicago and has a passion for collecting new and lively memories with her friends and family.
