Marissa McDermott earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based counseling skills and a client-centered approach to therapy. Marissa works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, school or work-related stress, panic attacks, relationship concerns, and other emotional or behavioral challenges.
Marissa is passionate about creating a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe, heard, and supported. She believes that every individual has unique strengths and resilience, and she collaborates with clients to build on those strengths while working toward meaningful, lasting change. Marissa strives to meet each client where they are, tailoring treatment to their individual needs and goals while fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship built on compassion, empathy, and respect.
Outside of the therapy room, Marissa enjoys traveling, staying active at the gym, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
