Meet Lauren DeHaan, M.S.Ed

Virtual Wheaton

Lauren DeHaan earned her M.S.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Illinois University. She has clinical experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns across the lifespan, from young children to older adults. Lauren enjoys working with clients of all ages and particularly has an interest in supporting adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, PTSD, work-related stress, depression, panic disorder, social anxiety, OCD, intrusive thoughts, and other life challenges.

Lauren believes therapy is most effective when clients feel understood, respected, and supported. She takes a warm, humanistic, and client-centered approach, meeting each client where they are and creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative environment. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is especially important to her, as she wants clients to feel comfortable being themselves and working together toward meaningful change. Lauren also brings an action-oriented perspective to therapy, helping clients develop practical coping strategies and identify realistic steps they can take outside of sessions.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys boxing, reading, spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and watching sports, movies, and TV.

I feel very understood and supported by my therapist.
