Meet Edgar Favela, MSW

Arlington Heights Virtual

Edgar Favela, MSW, is a Social Worker who earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences from Northern Illinois University and his Master of Social Work from Aurora University. Edgar is passionate about helping people feel understood, supported, and comfortable being themselves in therapy. He believes that therapy works best when it feels like a collaborative relationship, where clients can openly share what they are experiencing and work together to create meaningful, lasting change.

Edgar uses evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. He works with clients to develop practical tools for managing anxiety, facing challenges, and building greater confidence in their everyday lives. Edgar understands that starting therapy can feel intimidating, so he strives to create a welcoming and judgment-free environment where clients feel seen, heard, and respected.

Whether he is working with a child who is learning to navigate new fears, a teenager managing the pressures and changes that come with growing up, or an adult looking for support through a difficult season of life, Edgar takes a personalized and collaborative approach. He believes that every person brings their own strengths and experiences to therapy, and he enjoys helping clients recognize those strengths as they work toward their goals.

Outside of work, Edgar is an avid sports fan and enjoys cheering on his favorite teams. He loves spending time with his family and, when he has some downtime, relaxing with video games or a good movie.

Strong attention to my needs and providing a safe space to help through my struggles.
