Meet Katie Meyr, BA

Katie Meyr
Naperville Virtual

Katie Meyr (she/her) is a graduate-level counseling extern pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Midwestern University.

Katie recognizes that therapeutic conversations begin with authenticity. Her specialties include disordered eating/eating disorders, anxiety disorders, complex trauma, and neurodivergent traits. Her approach towards treatment is informed by CBT, ACT, DBT, psychoanalysis, and family systems. From interning at a college counseling center to working at acute psychiatric hospitals, Katie believes that meaningful progress comes from providing individualized care grounded in curiosity, consistency, and genuine compassion.

She particularly values helping clients make sense of their experiences, recognize patterns, and gain greater self-understanding through a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens. Whether someone is working through anxiety, trauma, disordered eating, or life transitions, her hope is that clients leave each session feeling understood, empowered, and supported as they move toward the life they want to build.

In her free time, Katie strongly values practicing what you preach. She enjoys healing through music, spending time with her loved ones, watching documentaries, and playing her PS5.

Strong attention to my needs and providing a safe space to help through my struggles.
