Valery Benson is a compassionate and collaborative psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides thoughtful, personalized care for children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, OCD and related disorders, depression, ADHD, and other mental health challenges. She takes a team-based approach—partnering closely with clients and families to create care plans that feel supportive, practical, and tailored to each individual’s needs.
Before entering the mental health field, Valery worked in intensive care settings, where she supported patients through some of life’s most difficult moments. These experiences deepened her understanding of how the mind and body are connected and sparked her passion for helping people heal from the inside out.
Valery completed her advanced nursing degree at Marquette University and her Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. She brings a wide range of experience from outpatient clinics, hospital settings, and community mental health programs, and is especially skilled at supporting young people and their families.
At Light On Anxiety, Valery creates a warm, judgment-free space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and goals. She believes that healing happens through curiosity, connection, and consistency—and she’s here to support you or your child every step of the way.
When she’s not working, you’ll find Valery thrifting, crafting, or decorating—activities that bring her joy and help her stay grounded.
