Emily Wilensky, ALMFT
Emily is a certified CBT and OCD Specialist and has completed the extensive clinical training program through the Center for Anxiety Training. Emily received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Family Institute at Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Emily has extensive experience providing Family Therapy and CBT based treatment to children, adolescents, and families with a variety of presenting concerns including Family Conflict, Anxiety, Depression, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, OCD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Executive Functioning Challenges, ADHD, and BFRBs. Additionally, Emily has specialized training in Attachment Based Family Therapy and is passionate about coaching adults through parenting challenges, developing more cohesive parenting styles, and strengthening parenting dynamics to promote more happiness and optimal development of their children, as well as enhance overall family functioning.
Emily’s approach is client-centered, collaborative, and integrates interventions from various CBT treatment modalities as well as attachment theory and play therapy. She believes that her clients are the experts on their lives and aims to help them draw on their strengths to facilitate meaningful change and healing. Emily values building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients, and other important individuals in their lives, and uses her warmth and authenticity to create connections that help clients feel safe and supported in working towards their goals.
