Stephanie Lazar, LPC

Stephanie is a certified CBT for Anxiety & OCD specialist and has completed the extensive clinical training program through the Center for Anxiety Training. Stephanie received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from DePaul University, and her Bachelor’s of Psychology from Furman University. Stephanie has advanced training and clinical expertise treating adolescents, young adults and adults seeking help moving past anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (such as skin picking and trichotillomania) and eating disorders. In addition, Stephanie has a background in working with adults and adolescents at the residential level of care.
Her therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, and mindfulness-based techniques. Additionally, Stephanie incorporates a values based approach utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Through authenticity, compassion, and humor, Stephanie values building authentic therapeutic relationships in which clients are free to be vulnerable and feel heard. Stephanie believes in the resiliency of her clients and empowers individuals to recognize and lean into their inner strengths. She also has an interest in the mind-body connection and values a whole-person approach to therapy.
