In our culture we value and praise productivity, financial success, and putting in long hours at work. I have so many clients who tell me they are working 60+ hour weeks, some due to covid layoffs that are putting extra pressure on their work load and some due to the expectations of their job. Either way, in this type of environment there is no room for anything else. No room for being in the present moment, no room to take a legitimate lunch break, no room to turn off our brain when we finally finish the work day, no room to be fully present with our families, and no room to appreciate all that our minds and bodies do for us. It is no wonder why we feel incredibly anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, and burnt out!
