Sex education is a scary subject for most parents and caregivers. They often don’t know where to start or what to even talk about. I like to say the younger you begin, the better! Sex education has many benefits for young children such as a positive body outlook, improvements in parent/child communication, ability to recognize boundaries, and safety from sexual abuse. As teenagers, research shows talking about sex delays teen sexual activities, promotes engagement in safer sex, and helps teens make safer sexual decisions. As a clinician, I thoroughly enjoy my work helping parents/caregivers navigate their anxieties about talking to their children about sex. I am more than happy to navigate this sex education journey alongside you!
