Responsibility for Harm OCD
Responsibility for Harm OCD involves unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, images, and sensations (obsessions) related to fear of the repercussions of one's own actions or non-actions and engagement in behaviors or mental acts in response to these thoughts or obsessions (compulsions).
- Frequent disturbing intrusive thoughts related to fear of the repercussions of one's own actions or non-actions.
- Repeated behaviors that one feels compelled to engage in such as praying and hand washing in order to reduce or manage anxiety symptoms related to "causing harm"/extreme anxiety.
- Obsessions and compulsions cause clinically significant emotional distress
- Feared consequence is that one has caused harm or was unable to prevent harm to others due to their own actions or non-actions.
