PTSD

Post-traumatic stress disorder involves intense emotional and physical reactions after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event.

Symptoms:

  • Experience of a shocking, scary, or dangerous event or repeated events
  • Frequent or persistent nightmares or unwanted memories of the trauma, avoidance of situations that bring back memories of the trauma, heightened reactions
  • Experiencing triggers brings back memories of the trauma, accompanied by intense emotional and physical reactions
  • Symptoms cause clinically significant emotional distress and/or functional impairment
