Body-focused repetitive behaviors involve recurrent, irresistible urges to touch, rub, scratch, pick at, or dig into skin, bite nails, bite inside of cheeks and lips, or pick nose.
- Frequent engaging in body-focused behavior such as nose picking, nail biting, or lip and cheek biting
- Repeated attempts to decrease or stop pulling or picking
- Pulling or picking behavior causes clinically significant emotional distress or functional impairment
