Driving Anxiety

Driving Phobia is an intense, persistent fear of driving often resulting in avoidance or endured with extreme distress and/or panic.

Symptoms

  • Extreme fear or anxiety related to driving a vehicle
  • Fear of event or situation is avoided or endured with extreme distress and/or panic
  • Fear of event or situation causes functional impairment
CBT for driving anxiety will offer you cognitive therapy to identify and revise maladaptive fear thoughts associated with driving and provide you with exposure based therapy to driving related triggers to train your brain to no longer fear driving. When appropriate Light On Anxiety can partner with local driving schools, such as Ride Chicago,  to provide you with driving skills training to complement your CBT work.
