Return to School Mental Health Risk Assessments
This assessment involves a brief but evaluation of a student’s emotional well-being, behavior, and any potential risk factors that could impact their mental health. Our skilled and experienced mental health professionals work closely with schools to ensure a thorough analysis of student’s risk profile.
Assessment Process:
- Referral and Information Gathering: Teachers, school counselors, parents, or students themselves can refer students for the assessment. We gather information about the student’s background, academic performance, behavior, and any concerns raised by the referring party.
- Initial Interview and Observation: Our mental health professionals conduct an initial interview with the student to gain insight into their emotional state, behaviors, and concerns. They also observe the student’s interactions, behavior, and overall demeanor.
- Screening Tools and Assessments: We utilize validated screening tools and assessments designed to identify potential mental health risk factors. These tools help us assess factors such as anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, social functioning, and more.
- Collaboration and Information Sharing: We maintain open communication with school personnel, parents, and guardians throughout the assessment process. Collaboration ensures that a well-rounded perspective is considered when evaluating a student’s mental health.
- Comprehensive Report and Recommendations: Based on the assessment findings, we provide a brief report detailing the student’s emotional well-being, identified risk factors, and recommendations for intervention.
LOA is honored to partner with schools to enhance anxiety management for teachers, students and parents.
