Ress Uy (she/her) is a Certified Light on Anxiety Treatment Specialist and a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who received her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago with a specialization in Mental Health. Ress employs a client-centered, strengths-based approach when working with children, adolescents, and adults and is passionate about helping clients adopt new perspectives by validating, analyzing, challenging, and/or reframing their thoughts in order to create positive, sustainable changes in their lives. Ress provides her clients with a tool box of evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Inferential Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills and has a special interest in working with clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRB’s) and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). Ress has advanced training in Habit Reversal Training (HRT) and Comprehensive Behavioral Treatment (ComB) to support clients in reducing body-focused repetitive behaviors such as trichotillomania and skin picking.
Resseka’s therapeutic style incorporates humor and lightness as she believes that taking a more fun, lighthearted approach to therapy helps to nurture not only a warm therapeutic relationship but also an increased sense of understanding and connection within ourselves.
In her free time Resseka enjoys baking, playing video games, and trying new foods throughout the city!
