Maria Serembytska is a dedicated and compassionate clinician specializing in providing individualized, evidence-based care to support clients on their journey toward emotional well-being. Maria earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is currently completing her Master of Social Work at Loyola University Chicago.
Maria brings extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families across a variety of settings, including The Douglas Center, EB Pediatric Resources, and Care For Real. She has honed her skills in CBT based individual and group counseling, play therapy, and trauma-informed care. Her background also includes providing behavior therapy and conducting parent coaching sessions to foster stronger family relationships.
Maria is passionate about empowering her clients to overcome challenges through a blend of compassion and evidence-based interventions. She has a special interest in child development, parent-child relationships, and the role of resilience in promoting mental health. Maria uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to support clients in managing emotions, building interpersonal effectiveness, and achieving their personal goals.
In addition to her clinical work, Maria is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian, allowing her to provide culturally sensitive care to diverse populations. Her dedication to fostering growth, connection, and well-being makes her an invaluable member of the Light On Anxiety team.
