Maret Thorpe, LSW

Maret Thorpe is a licensed social worker and received her Master of Social Work at Loyola University Chicago with a concentration in Mental Health, and a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University. Maret’s clinical background includes treating adults seeking relief from anxiety, depression, and related disorders. In addition, Maret has clinical expertise assisting clients in managing life transitions, relationship issues, and work and academic stress.
Maret aims to create a space where her clients feel safe, accepted, and supported as they develop new strategies for facing challenges. She uses a foundation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with elements of solution-focused, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed therapeutic strategies to help her clients. Maret focuses on holistic healing, integrating client strengths, physical self-care practices and opportunities for supportive connections into treatment. On the weekends Maret organizes and officiates chess tournaments, and is also a knitter and a gardener.
