Meet Lauren Tonner, LCSW

Lauren received a Master of Social Work from The University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. 

With a passion for helping children, adolescents, adults and entire families navigate the challenges of anxiety, Lauren brings a wealth of expertise to her clinical practice. Her specialized training and experience encompass a wide range of mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, adjustment challenges, and trauma.

Lauren’s approach to therapy integrates evidence-based modalities such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She tailors her interventions to meet the unique needs of each client, utilizing creative techniques to foster emotional regulation and stress management skills.

A dedicated advocate for her clients, Lauren is committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals and families can openly express their concerns and experiences. She places a strong emphasis on collaboration and empowerment, working from a strength-based perspective to help clients build upon their existing skills while acquiring new strategies to achieve their goals. In addition to her individual work, Lauren believes in the importance of addressing the needs of the entire family system to promote lasting healing and growth.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Lauren enjoys immersing herself in the vibrant culture of her community, whether it’s attending concerts, exploring new culinary delights at local restaurants, or enjoying leisurely walks by the lakefront.
