Dr. John Park is a Certified Light on Anxiety Treatment Specialist, and a dually licensed Clinical and School Psychologist who earned his doctoral degree from the Ohio State University in School Psychology. Dr. Park completed his internship and post-doctoral training providing individual and group counseling and conducting psychological evaluations at Maine East High School in Park Ridge, IL. In addition to working in the school setting, Dr. Park has experience in a community-based, mental health clinic providing therapy to child, adolescent and adult clients.
Dr. Park uses a person-centered approach that aims to explore clients’ thoughts, behaviors, and emotions in a non-judgmental and collaborative way. He has experience working with a diverse population of clients and seeks to build a mutual understanding of their backgrounds and the relevant systems that influence them. Dr. Park has particular expertise and passion working with school-aged children and young adults. He uses theories of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices to help clients overcome the symptoms of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Conduct disorder, anxiety, depression and related disorders.
