Dr. Anika Fonson

Dr. Fonson completed her undergraduate degree at Loyola University where she earned a B.A. in Education with a concentration in Psychology. Dr. Fonson earned a Master’s Degree at American College of Education and earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Walden University. She has a wide range of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of expertise include treating anxiety and related disorders, depression, and ADHD with a particular interest in teen and adult populations.
Dr. Fonson’s therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Dr. Fonson works with the starting assumption there is no single therapy solution that is going to be appropriate for every client. Therefore, she has a unique way of tailoring her therapeutic approach in order to fit the needs of each and every client she works with. She provides empathy, compassion and emotional support while creating a treatment plan that is specific to the needs of each client. Psychology is Dr. Fonson’s passion and she enjoys helping clients overcome their different life challenges.
