Dr. Mitchell earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in clinical child psychology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She brings extensive experience treating adults, children, adolescents, and their families who present with issues related to anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and co-occurring behavioral problems. Committed to providing evidence-based services, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Behavioral Parent Training (BPT).
Having provided services in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, and community clinics, Dr. Mitchell values collaboration with significant adults in all areas of a child’s life. She also brings expertise in psychoeducational assessment, and as such, has a particular appreciation for the ways that academic challenges may be contributing to current problems. She is careful to tailor therapeutic interventions to the client’s developmental level and does substantial collaboration with parents to help them become their child’s “coach” in facing anxiety.
