Chelsea Vlcek, MA

After graduating from Augustana College with a Bachelor in Psychology, Chelsea knew she wanted to pursue a career as a professional therapist. She graduated with her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University in Chicago where she was trained through a lens of social justice and advocacy. During her internship, she was introduced to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness as additional therapeutic modalities. She believes strongly in the connection of the brain to the health and wellness in the body.
Since receiving her Masters, Chelsea has had time as a stay at home parent, where she has been able to study yoga philosophy and become a certified yoga instructor. Her approach to counseling is collaborative, eclectic, and tailored to individual client needs. Chelsea believes that growth happens through learning, for both the client and the therapist. After seeing the success and impact that CBT can have on anxiety-related experiences, she is very excited to be part of the Light On Anxiety team.
