Alyssa is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), who earned a Master of Arts in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois Springfield with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health. During her clinical training, Alyssa has worked with individuals experiencing Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, self-worth difficulties, body image difficulties, substance use disorders, and memory loss. She also has experience working with various age groups, across diverse populations and backgrounds.
Alyssa recognizes the multidimensionality of clients and, therefore, finds it important to provide individualized treatment that is tailored to each client’s unique needs and experiences. Additionally, she is well-versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and has undergone extensive training in using this Evidence-Based treatment modality to treat a variety of symptoms. She also deeply values collaboration between counselor and client in sessions, and prioritizes creating an empathetic, accepting, and non-judgmental environment for the client, where they can feel safe and supported throughout the entire therapeutic process.
