Alyssa is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who earned a Master in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois Springfield. Alyssa has worked with individuals experiencing Anxiety, Panic, Agoraphobia, OCD, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, self-worth difficulties, disordered eating/body dysmorphia, substance use disorders, ADHD and executive functioning challenges. She brings a wealth of experience working with various age groups, diverse populations, and backgrounds.
In addition to her work with adults, Alyssa is passionate about providing therapeutic support and coaching to children, adolescents, and parents. She is skilled at helping young clients manage emotional challenges, build resilience, and develop effective coping strategies, while guiding parents on how to best support their child’s growth and well-being. Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a deep understanding of family dynamics, fostering stronger connections and communication within the family unit.
Alyssa also has a clinical specialty in helping clients obtain freedom from academic and other forms of performance-related anxiety, including sports and career anxiety. She recognizes the multidimensionality of her clients and finds it essential to provide individualized treatment tailored to each client’s unique needs and experiences. Alyssa prioritizes creating an empathetic, accepting, and non-judgmental environment where clients of all ages can feel safe and supported throughout the therapeutic process.
In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, and playing with animals.
