The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted school, daycare, and other activities that children are accustomed to participating in. In these times of heightened stress, anxiety, and change, parents may find that they aren’t the only ones struggling to cope. Many children are regressing (moving backward in their development) as a reaction to newfound stress and anxiety. Regression is a sign that the child is too overwhelmed to cope in the way that they have recently mastered.
